From a global frame like the EU, minority languages are treated in a generalized way and they are set in a unique field, as if we were in front of only one picture. But, what happens when we pay attention to the details of this picture? And what if we go beyond the frame –the politics- and we focus in the culture of every line, of every color, which is, of every language? A look that goes from the smallest thing to the most global one, a more curious and detailed view from the current cultural and social panorama.
Catalan, Basque and Galician could also be found in one of these pictures. Three minority languages with a common feature: they coexist in the same political state. The aim of this project is, then, to look at them with these curious eyes, eager to catch the sounds of each speaker, the hidden meanings behind each language and in conclusion, the reality of a social collective which has built a language from the most quotidian experiences.
The Catalan Maria Mercè Marçal, the Galician Alfonso Daniel Rodríguez Castelao and the Basque Joseba Sarrionandia Uribelarreaare are the protagonists who will guide us through on this journey of discovery. Three languages, three views, three realities.
